"After returning from the mission field, my father accepted a position as professor of missions at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, IL), where he served for twenty-five years. On various occasions, he was offered opportunities in the business world that would have been significantly more lucrative, financially speaking. But he turned them down to follow a different calling. Though I grieve his passing I rejoice in his life of dedication to the gospel of God’s love through Jesus Christ. Though not wealthy by any means, my parents were generous beyond measure, both to myself and my two siblings; and to the work of the church and missions. They are a prime example of what it means to 'store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy' (Matt 6:20)."
